In another of those unexpected "discoveries" on our tour, Ray stopped at an indigo factory, where we observed the entire process from indigo plant to cotton cloth beautifully decorated using the batik process.

A potted indigo plant...

Cloth comes out of the indigo and lime slurry green, and oxidizes to blue in a few minutes...

Applying patterns to cloth using a metal stamp dipped in hot wax (in the basin)...
