The jungle recalims a temple...

After lunch, we toured the fabulous Angkor Wat, a temple complex built over hundreds of years starting in the eighth century A.D.

In Southeast Asia, a temple (wat) consists of a campus that can include a main hall with an image of Buddha, dormitories, classrooms, a dining hall, etc.

We saw a wedding party visiting the temple, and took a picture of the bride and groom.

A huge rectangular moat surrounds the temple grounds...

Small arms fire damaged one of the entrances when the Khmer Rouge sought refuge inside...

Our group (left to right): Elliott and Laura Dudnik, John and Julia Langford, Barbara and Jim, and Priscilla Clute and Bob Smythe.
