We start on the jungle path to the summit of Huayna Picchu. It is very green, with moss-covered stones everywhere.

Barbara climbs the steep path. The entire trail was constructed by the Incas at the same time that Machu Picchu was built. The only difference between today's hiking trail and that of the ancient Incas is that today, in particularly dangerous parts, there are hand rails. Notice the steep drop to the river below.

This is a natural land bridge between Machu Picchu and the sacred mountain of Huayna Picchu.
