This carved rock resembles an Incan face.

Bromeliads find a foothold in the natural rock of the ruins.

We are at the end of our tour of Machu Picchu and Leylys surprises us all by bringing a bottle of champagne out of his backpack. Here Sylvia tries to open the bottle. We all toast Machu Picchu in Quechua Indian style by flinging a few drops of our champagne in the direction of the mountain. Then, of course, we drink the rest!

Leylys explains about the room with two mortar-like features, saying that these features may have been used as mirrors.

We board the bus once again for the trip back to Machu Picchu city. When we return, we note that the river rages more strongly than before we left. This indicates that there was significant rain farther back in the mountains. We hope that it will not rain on the next day when we plan a return trip to the ruins.
