This huge, wood-heated bakery oven is used 24 hours a day. In the evening many different types of bread are baked. ![]() Sylvia examines some woven place mats and tries to barter a good price. ![]() In the evening, we are treated to a lovely home-cooked meal at a local Quechua Indian home. Our long table, with its beautiful tablecloths and flowers, rests on a dirt floor. The entire meal has been prepared on the wood-burning stove in the back corner. Around our ankles, the family guinea pigs wander at will. All helped in the preparation of our meal. The meal was delicious and consisted primarily of local vegetables and fruits; lamb was also served. ![]()
