From the ruins of ancient Pisac, there is a magnificent view down into the valley.

Within the ruins, we spot a stray dog that looks very much like a coyote.

Mountain lupine bloom everywhere.

Pat Stephenson looks lovely as she rests in a field of lupine. It is close to 12,000 feet, and the altitude has all of us moving slowly and taking frequent breaks.

We arrive at another rest stop and Leylys gives us another archeological lecture concerning the history of the ruins and the culture of the people who lived there. Privately, we all marvel at how incredibly knowledgeable Leylys is! He talks with a passion that comes from loving his subject; we are held spellbound by his words.
