We end our river-rafting at Pisac where we gather on the river bank for a picnic prepared by Leylys and Julio, our bus driver.

After lunch, we drive to the ancient city of Pisac located on a spectacular buttress ridge with gorges on either side.

We are met at the entrance by village people who have learned that people in tourist buses will pay money to take photographs of them. Leylys helps us make a more ethical trade. We ask them to sing a folk song for us, and they do. We are charmed and they are proud. Afterwards, we return the favor by singing to them. We sing You Are My Sunshine, and manage to keep fairly well in tune. They think we are funny. In the end, we pass a hat and collectively give the whole group a generous tip that they can divide later.

All the beautiful, young, eligible ladies wear real flowers tied to their hats.

The little girls wear flat, brightly colored hats.

This child has woven belts to sell. Undoubtedly, she is too young to have made them herself, but she makes an earnest, irresistible, and most charming salesperson.
